Dr. Peter G. Vergos has been dedicated to providing exceptional eye care to his hometown community for over 36 years. As the owner of Center Road Vision Care, a practice he proudly
co-founded with Dr. Mark Engelman, Dr. Vergos has built a deeply rooted family legacy. Today, he enjoys the unique privilege of practicing alongside both Dr. Engelman’s son, Dr. Michael
Engelman, and his own son, Dr. Nicholas P. Vergos.

A proud local, Dr. Vergos graduated from Carman High School—where he met his wife, Susie—before earning his undergraduate degree from Hope College. He then moved to Chicago to
attend the Illinois College of Optometry, where he earned his Doctor of Optometry degree. Dr. Vergos and Susie raised their three sons locally and currently reside in Flushing, Michigan.

For Dr. Vergos, optometry remains an immensely rewarding profession. Outside of the clinic, he is an avid golfer and bowler, enjoys traveling, and is a dedicated fan of Detroit sports.

"Optometry is a wonderful profession, and after over 36 years of practice, I still look forward to caring for my patients every single day. My roots in this community run deep—I'm a graduate of Carman High School, where I met my wife, Susie. Together, we raised our three sons right here, and we are proud to call Flushing, Michigan home.

My professional journey took me to Hope College for my undergraduate studies, followed by the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, where I received my Doctor of Optometry degree. Today, I am the proud owner of Center Road Vision Care, a practice I originally co-founded with Dr. Mark Engelman. It is a true full-circle privilege to now continue that legacy of family-focused care alongside both Dr. Engelman's son, Dr. Michael Engelman, and my own son, Dr. Nicholas P. Vergos.

When I’m not helping patients see their best, you can usually find me out on the golf course, at the bowling alley, traveling, or passionately cheering on all of our Detroit sports teams."

Dr. Michael J. Engelman is originally from Grand Blanc, MI. He was introduced to optometry by his father Mark, who retired from the practice in 2020 and is spending his time golfing in North Carolina. Dr. Michael graduated from Ohio University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition with a focus on Diabetes. He then attended Indiana University School of Optometry where he earned his Doctorate of Optometry in 2020.

At Indiana University, he was a member of the American Optometric Student Association. During his rotations at the Lexington Kentucky VA Hospital and Charlotte Ears, Eyes, Nose, and
Throat Associates in North Carolina he gained extensive experience in ocular disease, contact lenses, dry eye disease, and pediatric optometry.

Dr. Engelman has developed a passion for myopia control, dry eye disease, and contact lenses, amongst his practice of family eye care. Dr. Engelman is currently a member of the both the
Michigan and American Optometric Associations. In his spare time, Dr. Michael enjoys spending time on the golf course, rooting for the Detroit sports teams and the Indiana Hoosiers, and traveling with his wife Kelsey.

Dr. Nicholas Vergos is an optometrist dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality eye care to our community. A 2024 graduate of the Kentucky College of Optometry, Dr. Vergos also holds a degree from Michigan State University (’19) and is a graduate of Powers Catholic High School (’15).

Outside of the office you can find Dr Nick golfing or attending various sporting events. In 2026, He married his wife Madison. They currently reside in the Genesee county area.
